Minister of Industry and Technology, our alumnus Mehmet Fatih Kacır, made statements about Boğaziçi Technopark.
Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır stated at a ceremony he attended at Boğaziçi University that special importance will be given to the development of Boğaziçi Technoparks. Kacır emphasized that the technopark established on the Kandilli Campus reached its occupancy rate within two years and that new ventures continue to operate in this field.
Minister Kacır expressed his determination to contribute to projects targeting Boğaziçi University with the words, “We see strengthening Boğaziçi University’s technoparks as a priority goal.” He also stated that he learned that our technopark areas at the university were completely filled in two years and that many researcher entrepreneurship groups are operating.
Kacır announced that the investment made to Boğaziçi University with the support of TÜBİTAK reached approximately 4,100 people by transferring over 2.4 billion liras to 669 projects, and the number of researchers increased from 29,000 to 300,000 in 23 years. He also stated that there are over 11,500 technology ventures in 113 technoparks across Turkey, and Boğaziçi Technopark plays an important role in this ecosystem.
