Kandilli Campus, by being included in Boğaziçi Technopark in line with the Presidential decision dated October 5, 2023, has created a critical turning point in the technopark's expansion process and its thematic specialization strategy. With the integration of the campus into the technopark ecosystem, the institution's sectoral specialization opportunities have diversified; the Kandilli campus has been structured as a thematic technology development zone, particularly focusing on health, pharmaceutical, biomedical, and green energy technologies. This strategic structuring, which serves as a bridge between the university's strong academic background and industry, aims to transform scientific research into value-added commercial outputs and globally competitive technologies.
Examining the physical capacity and operational data of the technology development zone, the campus currently hosts 86 active R&D firms with a total area of 47,000 m², a building area of 3,100 m², and a leasable area of 2,200 m². Located at the heart of this innovation ecosystem, the 800 m² Boğaziçi Kandilli Entrepreneurship Office accelerates the development and market validation processes of early-stage ventures by offering comprehensive support mechanisms such as mentoring, training, laboratory access, and investor connections to its 22 incubation and 7 pre-incubation firms. Furthermore, the technopark area on campus plays a pioneering role in bringing new generation technology ventures into the ecosystem by hosting qualified entrepreneurship programs and events, such as the Bright Young Entrepreneurs Program Demo Day held on November 26, 2024.
